This collection contains the register for the Boarding Department of then North-Western College. The register includes lists of students who paid of room and board for fall term of 1870 and winter term of 1871. The register also includes groceries bills for the school year. No other ledgers are in the Archives, although the College did apparently board students for several more years.

Scope and Contents In the 1910s and 1920s, a number of individual students maintained scrapbooks documenting their college years. This series consists of honors theses completed and submitted by members of the College Scholars Honors program during their senior year. Topics represent all areas of the College curriculum, including business, humanities, arts, and sciences. The earliest thesis is from 1985, with only one or two submissions each year until 1994. After 1994, the number of theses increased.

This collection includes sheet music produced by and about North Central College. It includes copies of the Alma Mater and the book College Song of North Western (as North Central was known before 1927). There are fight songs and an ode to Old Main in this series, as well.

The Spectrum is the College yearbook containing photographs of students, faculty, campus events, clubs, and sports. Early Spectrums contain detailed descriptions of campus buildings, faculty members, seniors, class histories, clubs, and sports teams. The Spectrums are bound in a hard cover with one exception. The 1975 issue titled “Card Catalog” is much smaller, bound in a paper cover and only contains campus building, faculty, sports, and random student pictures.
